How a Spark Ad works
- The creator posts the video on their own account.
- They give the brand an authorization code for that post, and the brand picks how long the code lasts.
- The brand runs the post as an ad. The name and caption stay the creator's, and can't be edited.
- Tap the name on the ad and you land on the creator's profile.
- Every view, comment, share, like and follow from the ad counts on the creator's post.

Why you can't see a competitor's
- On Meta, every running partnership ad is public, with both names on it. See what Meta partnership ads show.
- On TikTok, a Spark Ad carries no public badge.
- TikTok's own ad library only has data from Europe.
- So a US brand boosting creators hard on TikTok looks like it's doing nothing in every public tool. When we read a brand's ads, we say what we can't see, and never call that an empty account.

The same videos can run on Meta
Ridge's CMO wrote that over 30 days, about 15% of Ridge's Meta ad spend went behind videos made by its TikTok Shop affiliates. Those ads brought back about the same return as the rest, cost 15% less to show to a thousand people, and got clicked twice as often.
- His point was that most of the value of the affiliate program wouldn't come from the shop's own sales. It would come from the videos.

What we'd do
- Start with posts that already did well on their own, before you pay to boost anything.
- Get the authorization code and the length of time in writing.
- Take the TikTok videos that work and test them on Meta too.
